It is an interesting afternoon as MEET DA NEXT ONE crew meet with OGUNLOWO OLAMILEKAN popularly known as OLALEKSIDE a.K.a Elegushi Spender himself with his Manager somewhere in surulere part of Lagos. 

OLALAKESIDE a fast rising Nigeria music talent displayed a jovial character all through the interview session and some funny display.

TELL US YOUR REAL NAME?
Whao….my name is OGUNLOWO OLAMILEKAN but my friends and dudes on the street call me LAKESIDE. Ola from Olamilekan matched with Lakeside brings about my stage name; Olalakeside the Elegushi Spender.

WHEN DID YOU START MUSIC?
I started music at a very tender age, back then in 1994 at C.A.C and ever since then gbabee I've been doing music. In 2000, I took music professionally and with JAH am still moving and will never come down.

WHAT REALLY PUSHED YOU INTO MUSIC?
Ahhh…push ke? Music is life and I develop a lot of interest in it. I do music because I love music. E dey my blood.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE CHALLENGES YOU FACED BEING AN ARTIST IN NIGERIA?
Thanks to GOD almighty, it's easy and not other way round. All challenges have been a blessing to me. Basically, I've always expected such because the music industry isn't really easy to break into. You know now….

HOW MANY TRACKS HAVE YOU REECORDED AND HOW MANY ARTISTES HAVE YOU WORKED WITH (Locally & Internationally)?
*Sighs*….hmmm. Omo, I cant really say precisely because I've recorded so many songs and worked with several artistes like DURELLA in "chop my money" DAMMYKRANE in "take over". A track with PHYNO is coming soon...and several other artistes.

HOW DID YOU COME ABOUT THIS SLANG OF YOURS "sha na wo le" WHICH IS NOW A NATIONWIDE SLANG?
*Laughs*…sha na wo le ….hmmm  na GOD O. Basically, the track 'Elegushi spender' brought the slang which is to appreciate the big boys supporting my music at ELEGUSHI. I must tell you, "sha na wo le" is just a slang that guys must pop something while celebrating. Much respect to OBA OF ELEGUSHI.

ARE YOU SIGNED UNTO ANY RECORD LABEL?
One man mopol, mi o ni record label like Olamide Badoo said in one of his singles…am only under a management "SEPH ENTERTAINMENT"


WHO ARE YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCES IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?
Ahh...go and listen to my track HUSTLE GO PAY where I mentioned all my mentors like BOB MARLEY, FELA ANIKULAPO, 2BABA, DBANJ. Those are people who influenced my kind of music. Because they put life in what they do

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR 2015?
Whao!…ELEGUSHI SPENDER  will rock 2015, you know…greater plans like 7 tracks, 30 club tours, 3 countries…..I must tell you it's going to be a very busy year gbabeee…

IF NOT MUSIC, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE BEEN DOING PROFESSIONALLY ?
Yeah…. with a verse from his latest track 'Hustle go Pay' I want to be famous like OKOCHA, I would have turned a footballer  because I love playing football, dribbling all on the pitch…*laughs*

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS?
Yeebaa!!! Five years? Ahhh!…..One of the biggest artist in Africa.

ONE WORD FOR UPCOMING ARTIST
Hmmm....my advice for them is that; in as much as they believe that one day "hustle go pay", they should never give up...
