While her move to visit President Goodluck Jonathan last week with some of her colleagues got her knocks and boos from different quarters, actress Ibinabo Fiberesima is cashing in on that as she had just been given a Federal appointment.
The actress who is presently the President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria alongside her colleagues like Mercy Aigbe, Monalisa Chinda, Stephanie Linus, Fred Amata, Desmond Elliot, Victor Osuagwu, Chidi Mokeme, Mercy Aigbe paid President Goodluck Jonathan a courtesy visit in Abuja where they tabled a lot of issues and challenges facing the Nigerian movie industry.
The meeting which was believed to have been facilitated by Producer, Zeb Ejiro who is close to President Jonathan was borne out of the need and desire of the President to give support to the Nigerian movie industry which is considered to be the third largest in the world.
It was revealed that after the meeting, the President consulted with some stakeholders in the entertainment sector and promised to map out some ways to help the AGN.
His first step in fulfilling his promise came barely some few hours ago with the news that the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria’s President, Ibinabo Fiberesima has been appointed a member of the board of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC)
When Street Journal tried to reach the sultry actress to confirm her appointment, she responded with a text message which read ‘dear, I have just been informed of my appointment as a member of the board of NCAC. The inauguration comes up @ 4pm today in Abuja. In view of this I beg to shift our dinner to tomorrow, at the same time and venue. Thanks. Ibinabo Fiberesima’.
Her appointment into a Federal board is been applauded by her colleagues and friends who believed President Goodluck Jonathan is a man that fulfils his promises and is ready to rescue Nollywood.
