ONDO SAVING A FUTURE
A clarion call has been made to government to save the future of our beloved youths in a free skill acquisition training, leadership summit organized by a serving corps member in Ondo State to awaken their leadership spirit, promote self dependency and imbibe a sense of responsibility into youths to enable them make informed decisions as leaders of tomorrow.
The event was unraveled in the grand finale leadership summit held at Unity secondary school, Okitipupa Ode-Aye local government in Ondo state. The program which was tagged with a theme: Yesterday Future - Today's Icon, marked the end of a free skill acquisition training of 55 students from different secondary schools within the locality.
According to Mr Sani Suleiman, a guest speaker, " Youths need to be focused because they are holding a sensitive position. They are the most promising asset a society can produce because they are the future. Am sure we all have been hearing about Nigeria's vision 2020 dream. I foresee Nigeria to be among the first 20 strongest economy in the world before then. This to me is possible. But to achieve it, youths have a crucial role to play and now is the time to prepare for the future so you all can lead to the fullest capacity.
"Furthermore, in response to the topic for the day "Pursuing Your career and Leadership Goals toward a Orange and Green Nigeria", Mr Oladimeji Lambo, a journalist with Aftermath Media said, " the topic is very deep and inspiring. It would broaden the perception of our youths, help them make good career choice and guide them toward achieving their aspirations which would positively influence the progression of this country as a whole. Olalekan Billiaminu, a serving corp member in Okitipupa Ode-Aye community, and the project initiator, also added that, "the survival of a nation lies on the education of its youth. Moreso, with the indispensable need for education that has been met to a certain extent in the state, equipping our youth with necessary leadership and entrepreneurial skills becomes pertinent to create a society of enlightened and resourceful citizens that are capable of adding value to the country. It has always been my dream to give back to the society, and with this laudable event I believe I am contributing my quota to the development of our darling Nigeria." He concluded.
The event which have people from different spare of life in attendance,like Iwayemi Ayoola an Inspirational Speaker, Oyindamola and Hardvantage as masters of ceremony.
However, the event was a huge success as it was widely attended by staffs, students and corp members. Moreso, Olufemi Toosh, a gospel artist, change the mood of the day with an energetic performance that added glamour to the occasion and 5 students were awarded with free tickets to the next talk2Boyz forum award gala night coming up in Abuja later this year.
